This year on June 21, the third Sunday in June, America celebrates Father’s Day! Father’s Day has been around for over a century, first celebrated on June 19, 1910 in Spokane, Washington at the YMCA. It was first founded by a young lady by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd. Sonora founded Father’s Day after hearing a sermon about Mother’s Day and thinking that Father’s deserved the same kind of recognition. The original date proposed to celebrate Father’s Day was June 5 because this was the birth date of Sonora’s father who was a civil war veteran, widow, and father of six. However, when this idea was proposed to the church there was not enough time to make preparations, so they settled for June 19. This year Father’s Day is just around the corner and many people are looking for the perfect, sentimental gift for their father. Some great gifts for your fatherly role model may include a grilling kit, power tools, or maybe a funny shirt, but what about stickers? Stickers can express everyone’s interest and hobbies in their own unique way, which can make this gift a very personal present for Father’s Day. With over 70 million fathers in the world a unique sticker to express your father’s hobbies and interest could be the exact thing you are looking for. Happy Father’s Day!
